- Just in—-National Camping Institute 2012 has has been granted educational endorsement by the American Camp Association’s Educational Endorsement Review Committee. Continuing Education Credits (CECs) will be available for this program.
- February 2012—NCI 2012 is just over a month away—Have you registered yet?
Early registration numbers for NCI—150+ participants from 18 states. News to note: If you need a ride from the airport, click on the “Airport Shuttle Service” tab on the left side of the page. Wednesday’s Full-Day Photography Workshop led by Jim Clark is full, so regretfully we cannot accept any more registrations in that event. Plenty more going on, though—check out our schedule and list of educational workshops .

- September 2011—Transportation questions?? For those flying to NCI, the nearest major airline hub is the Pittsburgh International Airport, approximately 2 1/2 hours from WVU Jackson’s Mill. Another good option for air travel is Yeager Airport in Charleston, WV, approximately 1 1/2 hours from the Mill. Also, a convenient regional airport, located just 30 minutes from Jackson’s Mill at Bridgeport, WV, offers several flights from Washington Dulles airport each day.
Driving to NCI?? WVU Jackson’s Mill is just a few short miles off of Interstate 79 near Weston. WV. Check the Jackson’s Mill web page for driving directions and GPS Coordinates.
- May 2011—A Call for Proposals has been issued. NCI will accept program workshops, research presentations, computer lab workshops, competency building workshops and poster showcases for NCI 2012. Deadline for submissions is September 15.

March 2011—Keynoter for the 2012 National 4-H Camping Institute will be Bob Ditter, M.Ed., LCSW, best known as the author of the popular column, “In the Trenches,” a regular feature in the ACA Camping Magazine. Bob has recently released a new book for camp professionals—“Summer Camp Rules!”. Learn more about Bob.

April 2011—We’re pleased to announce that award-winning nature photographer and author, Jim Clark will be the Capnote speaker for NCI 2012. Jim will share his experiences and insights in his presentation on ways to engage children with nature. Learn more about Jim.
